With this version, now it is possible to “taste” the goodness to have always a DriveCast in your pocket: downloading and playing media you have in your DriveCast Library will be always possible, also without using a computer… Just be connected to a wi-fi network (UMTS is only available in full version).

DriveCast Lite is available from the App Store:

Here it is also full version link:

However, we remember that both DriveCast Lite and DriveCast for iPhone and iPod Touch were created from an external developer, and its webpage is:

DriveCast has been developed thanks to the official Drivecast APIs, available for all developers.

MMWR is now an official Firefox Add-On

Versione italiana: MMWR diventa un componente aggiuntivo ufficiale di Fifefox

MultiMedia WebRecorder (MMWR for short) is the Firefox Add-On developed by some of the same programmers behind the DriveCast project, that allows the “personal recording” of what you listen or watch on the web.

Now MMWR becomes an official Firefox Add-on, available at the page: https://addons.mozilla.org/it/firefox/addon/8818. You can choose if you prefer to use the “Offical” version validated and tested by the Firefox AMO reviewers, or to continue to use the ”Lab” version with the latest updates from the DriveCast team.

A big thanks goes to the Firefox AMO reviewers, for helping us to iron-out the the detail about compatibility with all the other Firefox Add-ons and the rule of good-behaviour for the code in the great Firefox house.

New standard recording format

Versione italiana: Nuovo formato standard di registrazione

Thanks to all the suggestion sent us by the many user, we think we have identified the best compromise beetwen the need for speed (with low file sizes) and the quality of the audio for the radio recording.

From now on all the radio recordings done by DriveCast will be mp3 at 128 Kbit/sec, joint stereo sampled at 44.1 Khz. Up to now, recording in mono, we were honestly just optimized for the talk radio, and we hope this will make happy the many of you who need to record other kinds of stream.
